Image Sourcing and Rights at Pretty Glow Style
If you’re a photographer, nail artist, hairstylist, or illustrator, your work is a big part of why hair and beauty inspiration exists online at all. We don’t take that lightly. This page explains where the images on Pretty Glow Style come from, and what you can do if you spot something of yours here. It’s quick, simple, and no hassle.
Where We Stand on Image Use
Pretty Glow Style believes that its use of any third-party images falls under the fair use doctrine or involves images in the public domain. We never set out to use anyone’s work without the right to do so, and we have no intention of infringing on any copyright or intellectual property.
That said, we’re a small site publishing a lot of visual content, and mistakes can happen. If we’ve gotten something wrong, we’d genuinely like to hear about it.
The Real Sources Behind Our Images
A hair, nail, and style site runs on pictures. A single trend roundup can hold a dozen images, and across hundreds of posts and pins, that adds up quickly. Here’s where they come from.
Paid stock photography. Many of the makeup, lifestyle, and outfit images on Pretty Glow Style are licensed from commercial libraries such as Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, Depositphotos, and Canva Pro. We use these images within the terms of each license. The photographers and libraries keep full ownership of their work.
Free photo libraries and Creative Commons. Some images come from Unsplash, Pexels, and Pixabay, which each offer their own free-to-use license. Others come from creators who share their work under Creative Commons licenses such as CC0, CC BY, or CC BY-SA. When a license asks for credit, we give it. When a license includes share-alike terms or limits certain uses, we follow those terms too.
Brand, editorial, and press images. When we cover a new nail polish collection, a hair tool, or a trending beauty product, we sometimes show official product shots or press images from the brand. Some trend roundups also feature a nail set, hairstyle, or look shared publicly by an artist or salon, shown as an example of the trend. These images appear in an editorial context, such as commentary, reviews, or trend reporting, which we believe qualifies as fair use. Where credit is expected, we name the brand, artist, or photographer and link back to the source.
Public domain images. For historical beauty and fashion references, such as vintage hairstyles or classic makeup looks, we may use images from Wikimedia Commons, the Library of Congress, or Smithsonian Open Access. We check the rights status listed on each file before using it, since not everything in these archives is in the public domain.
Our own photos. Where possible, Pretty Glow Style creates its own images, such as at-home manicures, styling tool shots, and outfit flat lays. These images belong to Pretty Glow Style.
Photos from readers and collaborators. When a reader or collaborator sends in a photo of their nails, hair, or outfit for a feature, we publish it only with their permission. We also credit them in whatever way they prefer.
How Credit Is Given
When attribution is required, we credit the original creator. That includes Creative Commons BY licenses, free library terms that request credit, and editorial use of a brand’s or artist’s image. Credit usually appears in the image caption, right beside the image, or at the end of the post, with a link to the source whenever one is available.
If a credit is wrong, incomplete, or points to a broken link, let us know and we’ll update it promptly.
When Credit Slips Through the Cracks
We’d rather be upfront about this. Across a large archive of posts and Pinterest pins, an image can occasionally end up without complete or correct credit.
Sometimes a source link stops working. Sometimes an image was shared and reshared so many times across the internet that its original creator is hard to trace. This is never intentional. When it happens, we want to put it right as quickly as we can.
Why Creators Matter to Us
Style inspiration exists because people make it. A nail tech spends two hours on a single set. A colorist blends three shades to get one soft, seamless balayage. A photographer waits for the right window light before taking a single shot.
Pretty Glow Style respects the photographers, illustrators, designers, artists, and brands whose visual work shapes this corner of the internet. We’d much rather fix a mistake today than argue about it later.
Found Your Work Here? Pick What Works for You
If you find an image you own on Pretty Glow Style, you decide what happens next. Choose whichever option suits you best:
- Get proper credit. We’ll add or correct the attribution and link to your website, portfolio, or social profile.
- Change how it’s shown. We can crop it, resize it, add your watermark, update the link, or adjust how your work appears on the page.
- Have it removed. We’ll take the image down completely, with no pushback.

Help Us Help You Faster
These details let us act on your request right away:
- A link to the Pretty Glow Style page where your image appears
- A link to the original image, or proof it’s yours, such as your portfolio, website, or the original social media post
- Your name and the best way to reach you
- The option you prefer: credit, modification, or removal
Missing one of these? Send what you have anyway, and we’ll work with it.
What Happens Once You Reach Out
First, we’ll confirm that your message arrived. Next, we’ll do a reasonable check of the ownership details, which is usually just a quick look at the original source. Then we’ll do what you asked, whether that means adding credit, changing how the image is shown, or removing it.
If the image also appears on a pin from our Pinterest account, we’ll update or remove that too. Finally, we’ll email you to confirm everything is done.

Chand zaroori flags (main lawyer nahi hoon):
- AI images: Prompt ki wajah se page mein AI-generated images ka zikr nahi hai. Agar site par AI images use ho rahi hain, to page jhoot to nahi bolta, lekin incomplete hai. Pichle audit mein AI signals flag hue the, is liye image sources wale section mein ek honest line add karna behtar rahega.
- “Our own photos”: Yeh section sirf tab rakhein jab site par waqai apni photos hon. Warna hata dein.
- Fair use: Nail artists ya salons ki photos full-size repost karna fair use ka mazboot case nahi hai, aur yeh page koi legal protection nahi deta. Sab se safe rasta licensed/stock images, apni photos, ya permission ke saath embed karna hai.
- Licenses: Unsplash, Pexels aur Pixabay technically Creative Commons nahi hain, unka apna license hai. Is liye maine unhe alag likha hai.
